Guild Activities Silt ild offers a variety of activities for its members:

bullet Monthly educational programs and workshops by nationally known and local quilting teachers and authors provide updated and timely quilting information, and enlarge members' knowledge of classic quilt making and history as well as the newest technical innovations in the art of quilting. bullet Monthly show and tell of work by members --beginners to experts-- inspires and informs.  Click here to link to available Show and Tell Galleries.
 
   
bullet Blocks of the Month and Block Swap patterns are offered to our members.  More information can be found in the Guild Newsletter
 
   
bullet Quilt Challenges and Round Robins offer imaginative quilting possibilities. Most recently Guild Members completed Mystery Quilts. To view them click here.
   
bullet Pot Luck Suppers are held twice a year in December and July and give members the chance for more camaraderie and conversation with other quilters.
 
   
bullet Quilters' College presents a variety of "mini classes" to improve and expand members' quilting skills.
 
   
bullet Library:  The Santa Monica Quilt guild maintains an extensive library of new and classic quilt references.  Selections from the extensive library list are available to members to check out and use.
 
   
bullet Philanthropy:  The Santa Monica Quilt Guild sponsors a variety of community projects.  The guild has taken on projects for: quits for victims of hurricanes katrina and Rita, The Downtown Women's Center, Project Angel Food and The Children's Circle. Past projects have also included L.A. Goal, collecting books for Reach Out And Read; making baby quilts for The Venice Free Clinic; making quilts for Caring for Babies with AIDS; making Reach for Recovery Bags for breast cancer patients; and outreach to the Santa Monica Rape Crisis Center. Members recently made placemats for Meals on Wheels.  Mini Groups made quilts for the YWCA Transition Program.

bullet Newsletter:  Our monthly publication keeps members informed of Guild activities, and also presents topics and information of general quilting interest. News of interest about guild members is often included. This can be received either via email or regular mail.
 
   
bullet Several "Mini Groups" comprised of guild members meet regularly to pursue their individual and group quilting interests.
